Dato’ Praba Thiagarajah is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Basis Bay. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Physics from the University of Malaya and has several post -graduate qualifications such as Diploma in Computing &Information Technology from the University of Oxford (UK), Master level business certificates from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland) and Business Continuity certification from Disaster Recovery Institute International (USA). His early years was as a Quality Control engineer with NEC Malaysia, after that he worked as a Customer Engineer with IBM Malaysia.

Dato’ Praba ventured into the IT business very early on and has more than 20 years of experience. He is also an individual member for several organisations such as Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC) and Singapore Computer Society (SCS). He is also a long standing member of international societies such as Computer Exchange (Netherlands) and Association of Services & Computer Dealers (USA).

He received the Key Industry Leader award by the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) 2005, Young Indian Entrepreneur Award in 2006 from Social Entrepreneur Network (SENET), GOPIO Excellence Award 2008 and Global Impact Award 2008 from the Association of Services & Computer Dealers (USA).

Dato’ Praba and his team at Basis Bay strongly believe in a holistic approach to Green IT, with its commitment towards sustainable practices. Basis Bay is on the forefront of sustainability IT internationally, and has established itself as a thought leader in this space. Basis Bay also built Asia’s First Green Data Centre.
